A place with its own rhythm.
Apples grow around Midelt, on a plateau between the Middle Atlas and the High Atlas. The eastern High Atlas rises beyond the town. Travelers on the road from Fez toward the desert pass orchards and farms before continuing toward Errachidia and the Saharan valleys. Farmers in the province irrigate fruit trees, vegetables and fodder crops. Barley and wheat grow on rain-fed land, and livestock are raised in the surrounding region. Outside the farming town, Aouli and Mibladen have former mine workings and miners' settlements beside a gorge and its river.
